Samt keeps everything on your device. There is no account, no server, no advertising trackers, and no analytics. We do not receive any data about you.
Location. The app asks for access to your device location for one purpose: to calculate the direction of the Kaaba in Makkah from where you are standing. The calculation happens entirely on your device. Your coordinates are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and they are not stored after the calculation — they exist only in memory while the app is running.
Device sensors. The app reads the magnetometer and motion sensors to orient the compass on screen. This data is never recorded or transmitted.
No name, email, contacts, photos, health records, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. No account is created. No analytics or attribution SDKs are included in the current version. If this changes, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated first.
None. The app has no backend of its own. Apple may collect information independently of us when you download or use the app — for example aggregate download and crash statistics available to all developers — under Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can deny or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings (the app then cannot compute a bearing), and deleting the app removes everything associated with it. Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase — but if you believe otherwise, contact us and we will investigate.
Samt is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date.
